Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
Activity goals: | Through the Mid-Autumn Festival activities, children can learn about the customs and culture of the festival, experiencing the atmosphere of Chinese festivities. |
Activity introduction: | During the celebration, children will engage in activities such as making snow skin mooncakes, playing with lanterns, and solving lantern riddles. These activities will help them understand traditional foods, customs, and the cultural significance of “reunion” in Chinese culture. Additionally, through a parent-child eco-friendly lantern design activity, parents and children will create lanterns that reflect traditional Chinese characteristics. This will enhance parents’ understanding of Chinese culture and allow everyone to jointly experience the peaceful atmosphere of the festival. |
Chinese Culture Week
Activity goals: | Through the activities of Chinese Culture Week, children will deepen their understanding of traditional Chinese folktales, clothing, cultural arts, and unique foods, enhancing the recognition of national identity among children, teachers, and parents. |
Activity introduction: | During Chinese Culture Week, children will appreciate and create various traditional Chinese handicrafts, including ink wash paintings, blue-and-white porcelain, and face masks, experiencing the unique charm of Chinese culture. They will also taste a variety of Chinese delicacies, such as tangbuai (glutinous rice balls), malt sugar cakes, and tangyuan (sweet rice dumplings), engaging multiple senses to learn about Chinese culinary culture. The flag-raising ceremony will strengthen the children’s respect and recognition for their country. Teachers will introduce the origins of “National Day,” helping children understand the colors of the Chinese flag and their symbolic meanings. By watching “The Young Chinese Say,” students will learn about traditional Chinese music, recitation, martial arts, dance, and calligraphy, while collectively celebrating National Day, fostering a love and pride for Chinese culture. |
"Happy Birthday, China" Parent-Child Greeting Card Competition
Activity goals: | This event invites parents and children to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China together. |
Activity introduction: | Parents and children will collaborate on the theme “Happy Birthday, China,” using various materials to create a unique greeting card rich in Chinese characteristics. This activity aims to enhance the sense of national identity among both parents and children, fostering a deeper connection to their cultural heritage. |
CHILL Learning Center – Chinese Cultural Arts Series
Activity goals: | Through regular workshops on Chinese cultural arts for parents and children, this program not only allows parents to learn about Chinese culture and arts but also enables families to experience the joy of Chinese traditions together, fostering a sense of national identity. |
Activity introduction: | The school will organize a variety of parent-child activities focused on Chinese cultural arts, including tie-dyeing, traditional Chinese painting, and vase-making. These activities will allow parents and children to experience the charm of traditional culture together. With the guidance and participation of parents, children will be exposed to and develop an interest in Chinese cultural arts from a young age, gradually building a sense of belonging and identity to their country. Collaborative creation and interactive exchanges between parents and children will not only enhance emotional bonds but also ensure the joyful continuation of cultural heritage. |
Chinese New Year Celebration
Activity goals: | The New Year Celebration aims to help children understand the traditional culture and customs of the New Year, allowing them to feel the festive atmosphere through various activities. By organizing a parent-child decoration creation activity, it also enhances collaboration between families and the school. |
Activity introduction: | The school will arrange a variety of New Year activities, including a parent-child decoration creation session, with the completed works displayed on campus to boost the festive spirit. Children will participate in lion dances, thorough cleaning, visiting neighbors for New Year greetings, and wearing traditional Chinese clothing. They will also learn about different traditional New Year foods by tasting items such as turnip cake, rice cake, and “laughing dates.” Parents and children will engage in the school’s Lunar New Year market activities, where games, dragon dance performances by parents, and cultural heritage demonstrations, such as traditional Chinese painting, blowing sugar figurines, and dragon beard candy, will provide everyone with a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. |
Flag-Raising Ceremony
Activity goals: | The flag-raising ceremony aims to teach children about the etiquette surrounding this important event, helping them recognize the national flag and anthem, thereby enhancing their sense of national identity. |
Activity introduction: | Our school’s flag-raising team has been established for four years and regularly undergoes training to prepare members for significant occasions such as Chinese Culture Week, National Day, Handover Day, National Security Education Day, and graduation ceremonies. Through these activities, children learn from a young age what it means to be Chinese. |
Graduation Ceremony Performance
